Video problem
Hi. Whenever I start Guild Wars, I get to the login screen and then sections of the screen start flashing colors. Certain polygons, it looks like. Then, after 2 seconds of this the game and my computer freeze.
Why is this? My setup:
Windows XP Professional version 2002
Pentium 4 2.40 GHz
512mb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti 4600
newest GeForce4 driver
DirectX 9.0

just leave it there, and it will eventually load completely, this sorta thing happened with the beta event with me, it froze for a bit, then after a min or two it loaded, so just have PATIENCE lol, then set your resolution to 600x800 full mode, and it will load lots faster . and if youre from the US, make sure refresh rate is 60khz, or europe make it 75khz .
also, depending on your card, you may need to change the anti aliasing settings and things such as that to get the best performance out of the card .

The login screen starts fully loaded. Then the problem happens, and then my computer freezes. To honor your suggestion, I let it load for a full 5 minutes; it remained frozen.
Does anyone have another suggestion?
